Tyler's Creature

At Tyler's school, all the kids got to make their own creature. The drew them, decorated them, got to create habitats for them, named them, and even told a story about them that their teachers typed up...

So, I proudly introduce to you... "Chin Bum"

It is really cool. The teachers put together a binder of all the children's creatures, and the book has been traveling from home to home. So we got to meet everyone's creatures, and Tyler was so excited and proud!!

Quick Trip To Michigan - Nathan's 1st Train Trip - Sort Of...

I was supposed to go out to Michigan last week with Nathan. I was going to be staying at Kristn's house. The purpose of my trip was to go to my friend Becky's surprise 30th birthday party - and, I also scheduled Nathan's 3-Month pictures with my FAVORITE photographer in MI - Rachel Helder!!

Of course all my eye drama started on the Tuesday before I was supposed to leave. So, I knew I was going to have to cancel my trip - so sad!

Then a good friend here in RF called and asked/kinda told me she was going to drive me to Michigan. I told her thanks for the offer, but probably not. She called the next morning too.... so after talking to Rich and Kristin (to see if she'd drive me around - she offered before I could even ask) - before I knew it, I was packed, blindfolded to keep the light from my eyes and on my way...

Driving 3 1/2 hours, in complete blackness is wierd... very wierd....

We stopped at Uccello's on the way - the best BBQ chicken pizza - EVER!! A few friends met us for a quick, impromptu dinner...

Earl and Rachel were there too!! IT was great and Mary Ellen fit right in :-)

On Friday, we took Nathan to Rachel's for pictures... she did an amazing job- I can't even clearly see all the pictures yet, but I know they are good!! Here are a couple samples...

PhotobucketPhotobucket

That last pose is important, because I have the SAME pose of Tyler and Karmyn at the same age. We're going to have them blown up to 11x14 and framed!!

Friday night was the party... Becky was so surprised, and since I had let Kristi know I wasn't going to be able to make the trip - Kristi was surprised too...

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
As for the train ride - sort of. Well, we went to Holland, we boarded... we sat... for 2 hours... there was no heat, no lights and no bathrooms. Finally, after 2 hours, they announced that they were going to have to bus us to Chicago... oh, and the buses wouldn't be there for almost another 2 hours!!
Kristin rushed into Holland and picked us up (oh, and 2 college guys I picked up on the train too!) and drove us to Michigan City. There Rich and Tyler picked us up - dropped the guys off at Midway and finally, we were home.... whew!

Random Pictures From Nathan's 12th Week

Due to the problems I'm having with my eyes, my blogging, and picture taking have been cut down some. Once my eyes are all healed, and I can see again - I'll be back to it.

In the meantime, here are the pictures I have taken...

And of course, a bonus picture of Kamryn... for those that see her often, you know this is just "so her" - and for those that see her via e-mail - here is her true side... she is a goof... and for those wondering, yes, she even napped in her beloved wings...

Our sleeping fat boy!

Holy cows! I put Nathan on the scale today, and it said 16 pounds! I thought it coudln't be, so I did the whole weigh me, then weigh him and subtract the difference - once again 16 pounds!!
Anyway, one of my favorite things to do, is watch Nathan sleep. My time with him is going so quickly, that I just absorb every minute!! Of course I also love to get my camera out and click away... today I got some fun ones... this is him sleeping on the couch...

Photobucket

Be sure to notice his, um... clevage - LOL!

Photobucket
I love this picture... however, I always underestimate my camera and how it catches EVERY detail... sorry for the boogie in his nose!

His sweet, fat little hand!!

The last one is for fun... Olive loves to lay wherever Nathan was last, and since Nathan was snoozing on the couch, Olive thought she'd join him...

I did it! Chocolate Chip Banana Bread!

Anybody that has tasted uncle Mike's banana bread knows he makes the absolute best banana bread - hands down! Sometimes he adds chocolate chips, sometimes blueberries - always yummy!

He gave me the receipe sometime ago - but I just attempted to make my own loaves last week. My first attempt went just okay - not great, but edible.

Not to be discouraged - I called him with some more questions - and today I did it. I made real uncle Mike banana chocolate chip bread! I made 6 loaves, and already ate one (oops). So, here is my beautiful loaves of uncle Mike banana bread! (There are 2 more in the oven :-))

Kamryn Has MRSA - Again....

Poor Kamryn -this is the 4th of 5th time she has had an outbreak of a staph infection, and the 3rd time it is MRSA... although we won't have cultrue results until Monday - it looks like it always has...

As of today she can't be around other kids for 36 hours, has to start a higher dose of an oral antibiotic, do a nasal antibiotic ointment, and be washed a couple of times a day with an antibacterial wash - fun, fun for her!!

Here is a picture of her back...
Photobucket

But as you can see, it isn't getting her spirits down at all.... see....

But of course, her brother is nearby to keep her smiling and happy...

Got My Haircut Today-

Thank God For - SKYPE

You may or may not know what Skype is.

Skype is a way to chat (voice and if you have a webcam even live picture) with your friends and loved ones.

My parents got us a webcam for Christmas, along with directions to download Skype... easy enough.

Now, everyday - my kids get to actually visit with their Nana and Papa, their aunt Carol and uncle Mike - their cousin Cassi and baby Cole... the list is growing...

Ther other night Tyler wanted to put on a "concert" - and wanted Nana and Papa to come...

So, my laptop (my Christmas gift from Rich) went up to Tyler's room and we called up Nana and Papa...

Picture 1:
Tyler putting on his concert... notice the Dyson vaccum is laying like that so it could be his "microphone" - the guitar - compliments of his Grandma.

Picture 2:
Nana and Papa singing along!!

Brothers

Tyler and Nathan - wow, what a pair! Really more Tyler - Nathan is just along for the ride.

This morning, I was feeding Nathan, Kamryn was still sleeping and Tyler came running into my room to see his baby Bro"v"er.

He talks away while Nathan eats and watches all that is going on.

The minute Nathan was done, Tyler was handing me my camera, asking me to take his picture with his bro"v"er...

Happy 11 Weeks Old Nathan

Unbelieveable - my baby boy is 11 weeks old, 77 days!! How did that happen? Nathan is such a sweet, happy, easy-mannered baby! We are very blessed.
He is still breastfeeding like a champ! He eats 6-7x in a 24-hour period.

Sleepingwise, he usually goes a 5-6 hour stretch, eats, and then goes another 4-5 hour stretch. He usually only takes about 10-15 minutes total at night. He does his business and goes right back to sleep. He even slept from 10:30 - 6:00 a couple of nights ago. It was nice, but, I don't expect that again anytime soon.
He is "talking' more and he loves to smile and laugh. He is very aware when he hears a new voice in the room.
Sizewise, he is huge!! I haven't put him on our scale this week, but, I had him in these adorable fleece lined jeans yesterday - size 3/6 months - well, when I put him in his jammies last night, he had indents from his pants on his tummy - poor guy! Also, his 3/6 mo onesie shirts pull down at th eneck... so, I'm considering trying on some 6/9 mo clothes. The pants will be too long, but, at least they won't leave indents!! Thankfully, he still fits well in his 3/6 mo sleepers.
I'm actually really sad - with his being our last, I really wish he'd stay little as long as possible! I want to enjoy every minute, so I feel like he is getting so big - so fast!
Here are some photos of our guy this week. Thank you to aunt Kristin for his cute "Baby Brother" shirt - althrough I'm afraid it'll be the last time he gets to wear it!
